The workshop. A place of sudden agitation, of ideas both clear and unclear that disappear just as quickly as they surge. A place inhabited by reflection, frustration, near-silence, hypnosis and obsession. The piece’s structure is revealed as through the lens of a camera, flipping from one room/states to another. Les chambres de l'atelier (The rooms of the workshop) is embedded in a cycle of compositions inspired by machines – real ones – that operate through physical mechanisms.

Les chambres de l’atelier was realized between December 17th 2007 and April 10th 2008 (reworked in july 2010) in the personal studio of the composer and in the Université de Montréal studios.

The piece will be published on a vinyl entitled usure.paysage 2010 by Hrönir, Germnay.
